Aberdeen is renowned for a series of “edgy” festivals; festivals that aren’t quite like anything you can see anywhere else.
Whether it be “sound”, dedicated making new music more accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds that embraces a network of local organisations to produce a varied programme of events exploring new music.
Aberdeen International Youth Festival, which is a truly international event, with participants travelling from all four corners of the globe to take part that is also committed to supporting emerging talent from across Scotland and the rest of the UK. The 2014 festival will be held on July 25th until August 2nd.
And the Jazz Festival that comprises six days packed with musical excitement from across the jazz and blues spectrum. In 2013 the festival expanded further from the Festival’s heart at The Blue Lamp, with concerts for the first time in The Beach Ballroom, The Forum and The Tunnels.
Or “Granite”, launched with a blast of 40,000 tonnes of the stuff in 2013, that gives a chance to discover Aberdeen's unique granite heritage and learn more about the part granite plays in the city and surrounding areas today.
